Who is Slow Tours Copenhagen?

Are you tired of running from attraction to attraction with a fear of missing out? My mission is to help you experience Greater Copenhagen with no rush. I am a fan of slow travel and JOMO, Joy of Missing Out, and I am not trying to show you it all in no time on my guided tours, city walks and hikes.

My name is Bente Hoffmann. I founded Slow Tours Copenhagen in 2018 because I think we should take our time when we experience something. Expect plenty of time for inspiring, exciting, quirky, funny and thought-provoking stories and anecdotes from the past and present on my private guided tours.

I am born and raised in the Copenhagen area and have lived here most of my life. And I never stop exploring the city. I have a master’s degree in Danish language and literature from University of Copenhagen and have always been passionate about telling good stories. In 2019 I graduated as a qualified tourist guide from Roskilde University – and the storytelling took over my entire working life, today I am a full-time guide and tour planner.

My mission as a guide is to introduce you to the pocket-sized Danish capital, share some of the good stories from the long Danish history with you and give you insight into, how it is and was to live in the world’s (second) happiest country. Experience that e.g. on the guided tours Cozy Old Copenhagen or Copenhagen Classic. Or join me for a half-day tour to see Hamlet’s Castle, Kronborg, and the charming seaport town Elsinore.

Architecture and the urban development of Copenhagen are special interests of mine. Are you interested too? Then book a guided tour of Nordhavn, a huge urban development project, or a city walk that focuses on Copenhagen’s architecture. I have conducted guided tours about architecture since 2020 with both companies and private individuals, and Slow Tours Copenhagen was an official partner of Copenhagen as World Capital of Architecture in 2023.

Slow Tours Copenhagen is a small company, so it’s most likely that I will be your guide if you book a private city walk or guided tour. But Slow Tour Copenhagen is also a networking company, and if I am not available, or if you are a big group who needs more than one guide, you will be guided by one of my good and competent collaborator. All guides in Slow Tours Copenhagen’s network are qualified.
