Women of Copenhagen – City Walk
A city walk filled with women’s stories in Frederiksstaden, the fine neighborhood around the Danish royal family’s palace.
Experience Copenhagen in a different way: On a historical city walk where you get stories about princesses and prostitutes, wives and artists and all the other women who have also left their stamp on a part of Copenhagen. Your will hear about both known and the unknown Danish women, about both the gentle and the contentious ones.
Experience the women’s Copenhagen on a different historical city walk
Shiver when you hear the stories from the Royal Birth and Care Foundation where women could give birth anonymously and for free – and be guinea pigs for young doctors with dirty fingers. Meanwhile, the registered prostitutes turned up across the street and were treated for STDs.

Hear about the last official royal mistress in Denmark. And meet two forceful personalities, the princesses and sisters Dagmar and Alexandra. And Laura Tietgen who had no children, but whose husband made sure they both left a very visible memory: The Marble Church.
You also hear about ward women, artists and other interesting Danish women – stories that are completely different from the stories that guides will usually tell you in Frederiksstaden, this distinguished neighborhood around the Danish royal family’s castle, Amalienborg Palace.
