Long ago Assistens Cemetery was in the countryside outside the ramparts of Copenhagen. But today, the old cemetery is a green oasis in the middle of bustling Nørrebro neighborhood. Only one fourth of Assistens is still an active burial ground, the rest is a cemetery park, and it is frequently used by its neighbors and visitors from afar who enjoy the park.
